Having seen the movie Avatar, I was intrigued by the theme that we are all connected underground through a central spot, like a Spiritual Tree of Life. I took this image back in the Fall, right in the center of the day when the sun was high in the sky. I wanted to give the illusion of life, by showing the reflection on the bark to look like the intricate pathways of a human's blood, running through veins and the angle rushes the eye towards the center and around the limbs in a fluid way I enjoy very much.
